San Luis Obispo Wedding Florist bio picture
  • Welcome to my blog!

Thank you for visiting my blog and please enjoy following me on my journey through flowers .My passion for flowers goes back to my childhood. My favorite Holiday was May Day . I would cut flowers from my garden and wrap them up in pretty paper and ribbons and put them on my neighbors door step. I have always loved flowers and at the young age of 16 , I decided to become certified as a floral designer. I studied Floriculture at Cal Poly State University . The whole time working in the floral industry. In 1995 I started my own floral design and event business on the Central Coast of California.

I live my passion every day. I truly feel so fortunate to be doing what I love to do for a living. In 2008, I was inducted into the American Institute of Floral Design (AIFD) which is a huge honor for any floral designer. I am constantly striving to learn new design techniques , taking classes from world renowned floral designers and staying on top of the latest design trends in my industry. This blog will display my work along with color trends and designs ideas to inspire you.

Honeysuckle pink is the color chosen by Pantone as the color of the year for 2011

Pantone 18-2120 Honeysuckle pink has been chosen by the prestigious panel at Pantone color as the color trend for 2011. This means we will be seeing this vibrant pink hue in fashion, interiors and yes, weddings. I love this shade of pink and can’t wait to pair it with tangerine orange , plum and even golden yellows.

Corrie and Sean 5.15.10

Working with Corrie and her entire family was such a joy. From the moment I met her I could not wait to design her flowers. She loved textures from moss and woody vines to feathers and everything sparlky. She picked a beautiful venue, Villa De Buena Vista in the wine country of Paso Robles . Her photographer was the amazing and talented Allyson Magda Photography .

Hot new trend for summer bridesmaids-Printed dresses

I’m so excited to see this new trend implemented for bridesmaids. I can’t tell you how many times my brides have said ” I picked this dress because I wanted my bridesmaids to be able to wear it again”. Way too often, bridesmaids dresses look like prom dresses and these poor girls are never going to wear them again. These dresses are fun and flirty and I am sure any girl would love to wear them again. I’m hoping my brides take this leap to trying something different.

Ashly’s Santa Barbara Wedding

Ashly was such a wonderful bride. I loved the entire process of  planning her wedding with her. She was orginally going to get married in Paso Robles but changed her plans and decided to get married at a beautiful venue in Santa Barbara. I was more than happy to travel to this stunning estate on the cliffs in the Hope Ranch area of Santa Barbara. Joe Labarbara from  Labarbara Sound and The Cakery in San Luis Obispo also traveled to Santa Barbara to Terra Bella Estates to service Ashly’s wedding. This venue  took my breath away the moment I stepped on to the property. Ashly had a very good idea of what she wanted but when I saw this venue I knew some of my custom made wrought iron pieces would fit in perfectly. She happily agreed and everything turned out so nice.

The flower girl held a floral wand which I love making. Every one I do is different but they are all fun and so girly.

Fairy tale Wedding at Eagle Castle Winery in Paso Robles

Eagle Castle Winery is definetly a fairy tale setting for a wedding. A beautiful stone castle surrounded by a mote in the middle of Paso Robles wine country. The photographer Joshua Caine had a unique style which captured the feeling of being back in time. This bride picked some of my favorite wrought iron props ,  wrought iron candelabras , boxes and four posted arch that were ideal for this setting .
